Nathan Hill – Full Time Instructor

Nathan is one of our most beloved coaches. He is known for his enthusiasm and positive energy which helps create self-belief and confidence in all students who encounter him. Nathans classes are high energy and full of fun making his teaching style as enjoyable and engaging as it is rewarding.

Nathan started his journey in Martial Arts with The Combat Academy in 2012. In that time, he has gone unbeaten in his competitive career and has amassed a wealth of skills which inform his teaching on a daily basis.

In addition to his Martial Arts experience Nathan is a former Professional and Semi Professional Footballer having played for Rotherham United from the age of 8 yrs. He also represented England U14s & U16s as a junior. His experience as an Elite Athlete in two separate sports give him high level knowledge and understanding of Goal Setting & Success, Sports Psychology and Athletic Development.

Nathans best quality however is his love of people. His friendly & welcoming approach combined with his motivation to help students of all ages and abilities, no matter what their goal, are the hallmarks of this outstanding Instructor.

Paul Paszek – Instructor

Paul started Martial Arts later than most in his late 30s. He started initially in our boxing program and competed several times as a boxer before making the switch to kickboxing.

Pauls greatest achievement was attaining the coveted The Combat Academy Blackbelt at age 42 proving that age does not have to be a determining factor in whats possible.

As a Martial Artist Paul has amassed the following achievements;

Owen Deakin – Full Time Instructor

Owen Deakin is a martial artist of the highest order with a host of accomplishments and a growing body of experience to his name. Owen has studied Martial Arts with The Combat Academy since 2013 and continues to learn, grow and improve his craft. His accomplishments in that time include;

Blaine Wilson – Full Time Instructor

“The Wonderkid” Blaine Wilson is known throughout the kickboxing World as the most accomplished Junior Kickboxer of his all time. As the first Junior to unify first the British and then World Kickboxing Titles by the time he was just 14, Blaine has remained unbeaten in his campaign as a Kickboxer in a career that has taken him across Britain and Europe facing the best opposition the world has to offer.Blaines accomplishments include;

Gasan Gindra – Full Time Instructor

“Gorgeous” Gasan Gindra as he is affectionately known throughout the kickboxing world is one of the most recognised and exciting talents on the UK Kickboxing scene.As a competitor he is know for his Flamboyant Style, other worldly speed & talent and his likeable, fun persona. As a coach he specialises in bringing the best out of his students through his own unique blend of humour and tough love. Gasan builds strong connections with all of his students and is a favourite among the students.

Callum Cope – Senior Instructor, Chesterfield

Callum is an active and highly successful K1 & Full Contact Kickboxing competitor. He is a hard working and committed young man who has dedicated his life to Martial Arts. He has studied kickboxing under the tutelage of Chief Instructor Mick Crossland since 2013 after several years training in his home town in Chesterfield. In that time he has achieved the following accolades.

Callum has benefitted greatly from his involvement in Martial Arts and dedicates himself to sharing these benefits along with his knowledge and skills as Senior Instructor at The Combat Academy’s Chesterfield school.

Callum has a high energy and engaging teaching style and is very much results focused. He excels at teaching students from beginner to advanced and is excited by the prospect of introducing the benefits of Martial Arts to new people.

Tommy Crossland – Senior Instructor, Barnsley

Tommy is former British, European & World Amateur K1 Kickboxing Champion and is currently one of the Rising Stars of the UK’s Professional K1 Kickboxing scene. He has been training at The Combat Academy since its inception and has become not only one of it’s most accomplished students but also a shining example of the values and personal development the our programs produce.His accomplishments as a competitor & Martial Artist include;

Tommy has been a full time coach at The Combat Academy since leaving school and has dedicated his life to teaching and competing in the sport he loves. He is an enthusiastic, experienced and knowledgeable coach who is known for his patience, meticulous attention to detail and positive supportive approach. Tommy prides himself in offering the same level of support and guidance to members of all levels of skill and ability and works tirelessly to ensure that everyone he works with is able to achieve their full potential.

Tyrone Power Jr – Senior Instructor, Northampton

The enigmatic Tyrone Power Jr is one of the UKs finest ever Martial Artists with an array of achievements in a range of disciplines.Having competed and won World Titles in Forms, Weapons, Points and Full Contact Kickboxing he is one of the few Martial Artists ever whose skills transcended the disciplines.

Tyrone was best known as the unbeaten Amateur Kickboxing Sensation who was prolific on the Full Contact & K1 Scene throughout his years a sa fighter.

Having travelled the World as a competitor Tyrone now makes a career as a coach with a rich history in the sport. To supplement his Martial Arts experience he also successfully completed an Extended National Diploma in Sports and Exercise Sciences covering modules such as Sports Nutrition, Sports Anatomy and Physiologyas well as Sports Psychology and Sports Massage. Tyrone is also a Level 2 Gym Instructor.

Tyrone Steers the ship at The Combat Academy Northampton Branch and is both inspirational mentor and tough task master in equal measure.

Tyrone pushes his students hard and supports them in achieving only the best results in their Martial Arts Journey.

In addition to the above Mick has many years experience and qualifications in Health & Fitness. He is a fully qualified Personal Trainer (Qualified up to Level 3) and has studied advanced courses in circuit training, functional strength training, HIIT, advanced training systems, kettlebells and much more. Mick is qualified up to level 2 in nutrition and has years of personal and professional experience of muscle building, fat loss, weight making and achieving the desired body fat levels for optimum athletic performance.

In the years that The Combat Academy has been open it has quickly become one of the strongest competitive gyms on the UK Kickboxing scene as a trainer Mick has produced over 40 recognised champions from Area to World Level in various kickboxing disciplines such as K1, Full Contact and Low Kick Kickboxing.

Mick Crossland – Chief Instructor

Mick is the former ICO World Super Middleweight kickboxing Champion and has over 30 years experience training in various martial arts including Kickboxing, Boxing, Muay Thai & Karate. Mick has competed at the highest level as a kickboxer all across the world. His accomplishments include;
